Mount and Blade: Warband is the first sequel to Mount and Blade, a critically acclaimed medieval-themed action role-playing game released in 2008. It utilizes much of the same gameplay as the original, but features new graphics and a fresh storyline set 200 years later than its predecessor. It is powered by TaleWorlds' self-developed engine. The last thing you want to do as you're waiting for your next assignment from your liege lord is sit idle with nothing to do. Preferably, you've saved up enough money to get you through the three month waiting period or are about to get an assignment that will give you enough money to get what you want without relying on the wages for this one. As soon as your lord gives you an assignment, have the men mount up. It is always better for your lord if he does not have to wait long while you finish getting everything ready. The more time that passes while waiting for his missive, the more time he has to worry whether or not there will be a problem on the battlefield when he gets there. You have several different ways of getting around in Mount & Blade: Warband. The horse is a quick and easy way to get from point A to point B. Don't go planning on making a mad dash from point A to B with your horse, however, as it will run right off a cliff or into the water if you aren't careful. The horse is also useful for scouting ahead of your army. The scouts have much less skill than the other troops, but they still have much more health and can be used as a fast-moving scout group that can cover a lot of area. They require much more caution than pretty much any other unit in the game, though, as they are very vulnerable to stealth attacks from enemy forces. Next up is the caravan. Your lord will store a wealth of goods in his caravan, and you will need to protect it. The faster you can get that caravan going, the safer it will be from any enemy forces seeking to stop your slow progress. The last option is to hire a mercenary company. They come in three flavors: light cavalry, heavy cavalry and heavy infantry. These units have much more health than other types of units in the game, so they are good for when you want the army to be tougher when facing off against a superior enemy army. Throughout all of this there is a supply train that must be kept in working order at all times in order to keep up with your troops or compensate for lost troops during battle. Let the supply train get behind and you might find that your troops will start to desert in the middle of a battle. Mount & Blade: Warband features an even bigger world than its predecessor. This time around, you will be able to play in over 200 towns and villages, each with their own unique culture and population. You will also be able to travel throughout the lands of Calradia, fighting bandits and enemies alike in this expansive sandbox. The sandbox aspect of the game allows players to take on many different quests rather than just sticking with one faction throughout the entire game. There are over 50 different factions that you can choose from in order to rise in power and seek out glory in Calradia. cfa1e77820
